Summit of Kinabalu 3 Day Tour

Explore Kinabalu Park and enjoy its surrounding natural attractions before taking on the challenge to conquer Mt. Kinabalu, the highest peak of South East Asia (4095m) in this 3-day / 2-night summit expedition.

Itinerary
on this page

Day 1
- Drive 2 hours overland (88 km) through paddy-fields and Dusun villages over the ridges of the Crocker Range to the foothills of Mt. Kinabalu at 5,000ft
- Short stop at a roadside stall to savor local fruits
- At Kinabalu Park World Heritage Site, visit the Education Centre and Mountain Garden, home to various species of the flowering rhododendrons, carnivorous pitcher plants, orchids, ferns, oak trees and birds
- Temperature at the park is around 14 - 25° C
- Overnight at twin bedded room

Day 2
- Transfer to Timpohon Gate at 1,800m to start 4-6 hours trek with mountain guide to the overnight accommodation
- Accommodation is dormitory style, with common bathroom and restaurant - Laban Rata at 3,353m
- Do not forget to look around for some of the flowers and pitcher plants along the trail
- Temperature is around 5 - 10° C

Day 3
- Start ascent at 03:00 to reach the 4,095m summit at sunrise around 06:00
- After photography, return to Park HQ for lunch
- At 14:30 transfer back to Kota Kinabalu
